Our Perspective

In the Spirit of Giving

As a firm, serving those in need is part of who we are, so it’s no surprise that many of our employees are personal champions of a philanthropic organization. This article highlights just a few of the charitable causes that RMB supports as a result of our colleagues’ impassioned involvement.

Employee Profile: Margo Sweany

Margo Sweany, V.P. and wealth advisor working out of RMB’s Denver office, does not fit the stereotypical image that many people associate with financial advisors. In this interview, she talks about what it’s like to be a woman working in a male-dominated industry, how a millennial advisor can offer advantages to gen X and baby boomer clients, and how she almost went into music instead of finance.

Women & Money: The Gap Between Influence and Confidence

Women’s role in the economy is significant and growing. Yet despite women’s increasing influence, the majority of women remain uncomfortable making decisions – or even having conversations – about financial planning and investing. At RMB, we are committed to closing this gap by facilitating communication about financial matters among all members of the families we serve.

State of the Firm

We’ve experienced significant growth since our founding in 2005. What started as a handful of employees in a small office, managing around $500 million in assets, is now a team of over 190 people in 11 offices nationwide, trusted to manage over $8.4 billion in assets. This article offers a summary of how our business looks today and how our clients benefit from the firm’s growth.

Investing in our Future

At RMB, we aim to establish long-term, multigenerational relationships with our wealth management clients. Therefore, we need to build a multigenerational RMB team. One of the ways we do this is through our internship program, which is designed to attract high-performing students from top universities. This article explains how the program has grown from an early passion project of RMB’s founders to a robust model for our human resources strategy.

Employee Profile: Paul Joyaux

In his 12 years with RMB Capital, Partner and Senior Wealth Manager Paul Joyaux, who currently leads one of Chicago’s wealth management teams and serves clients mainly in the Midwest, has seen the organization grow beyond what he could have imagined. In this interview, Katie DenHollander, Marketing Manager, talks with Paul about the career path that led him to RMB and what he values most about his experience thus far.

A Personal Perspective: From Sue Christoph

We often say our greatest asset is our people. Our 120+ employees are all part of one big team that embraces RMB’s values of authenticity, excellence, rigor, solutions, and results. To highlight the individuals inside our firm, we periodically conduct interviews that offer a glimpse of their unique stories. Recently, we sat down with Sue Christoph, who is a partner and senior wealth manager.

To Protect and Serve

At RMB we pride ourselves on providing a high level of client service, and one of the most important ways we can do this is to protect our clients’ interests by complying with industry rules and regulations. Client security is the crux of many regulations, especially as it relates to sensitive personal information that could put your identity or assets at risk.
