Nothing shapes your experience working with Curi RMB Capital more than the people who make our work possible every day. The Meet Curi RMB Capital series offers a chance to get to know our team a little better.

Curi RMB: Can you give us an overview of your role at Curi RMB Capital?

Alex Sliwa: I’m an V.P. and Investment Management Specialist, which means I implement several asset management initiatives and processes. I serve as a liaison between our company operations, client services, and asset management teams, and assist with onboarding new external managers. I also work very closely with data to provide our asset management team with insights for monitoring and decision-making.

Curi RMB: What does a typical workday look like in your role?

AS: A workday starts with identifying where we are in our current initiatives and planning my day based on that. I then execute appropriate tasks, meet with stakeholders, update statuses, and plan for upcoming projects.

Curi RMB: Tell us about the education and career path that brought you here.

AS: I earned both my bachelor's in business administration and MBA from Loyola University Chicago, where I specialized in finance and was a part of the business fraternity, Beta Gamma Sigma. Upon graduation, I worked at Northern Trust Corporation for 20 years as a vice president in various roles before starting at Curi RMB Capital in January 2022. I was drawn to Curi RMB Capital because of its company values and mission.

Curi RMB: What keeps you busy outside of work?

AS: When I’m not being what my children like to refer to as a "professional Uber driver," I’m biking, running, and playing ice hockey with friends. I also enjoy cooking and am involved in an amateur competitive barbeque team.

Curi RMB: Is there something that you’re especially passionate about in life?

AS: My family and I are passionate about visiting national parks and exploring the beauty of nature. We have visited over 20 national parks and are planning on visiting more. Our favorite was Grand Teton in Wyoming.

Curi RMB: What makes you most proud to work at Curi RMB Capital?

AS: I’m most proud to work at RMB because of our commitment to values. It’s evident that our values are upheld in everything we do as a company and a family.
